GOTCHA!!!

The trip down was uneventful. The train was nice and smooth it got up to 296 kilometers per hour. We had fun finding our driver at Tainan train station. He was a little shy. The transition from St Lucy orphanage staff to us was not as I would have prediacted it might be. Joshua was definitely attached to the assistant director as was she - which is a good thing as he therefore has the capacity to emotionaly attach to people - us next. There were lots of caregivers and volunteers that wanted to say goodbye to Ni Ni one more time all the way to the taxi. We spent from 0930-1315 at the orphanage it was good and we took as long as we needed. We had a lots of tea and had lunch. Our guide Sally was great. Joshua takes commands pretty good when he starts fussing and cries you just have to say "don't cry" (in mandarin - bei ku) and he stops crying. So eventhough Joshua was fussing as we pulled away from St Lucy's - Steve the driver - was Johnny on the spot with the soothing, reasuring comments to Joshua and he was fine before we got out of the neighborhood. We used the babybyorn and he did great in it for the train ride home as the picture shows as he slept the whole train ride. He got to be a bit clingy at the hotel and he is slowly loosening up. We ran the battery dead on the handycam so when it charges I will try to add a short clip later. We will add more shortly.

Congratulations, Mom and Dad and to you too Joshua! I'm in tears, I'm so happy that you are finally with one another, the way it's supposed to be. He looks so sweet. I hope you have a good rest and a wonderful day. Love from all of us in freezing cold MI. Grandma Val, Deb, Sophie, Eric and Tim

Sorry we missed your call this morning. It was about 6:30 - 6:45 and we did not hear it ringing. Amber misses you both. We sent a video message on the cam. It sounds like everything is going good. Can't wait to talk with you tonight. Call when you wake up. We love you all.
